Portable DVD Player Battery
When should I replace my portable DVD player battery?
You probably get a lot of enjoyment out of your portable DVD player. It's wonderful to be able to relax and watch a DVD when you're stuck in the airport or to entertain your kids with a DVD while you get something done away from home. Portable DVD players use up power quickly, and you need to know when it's time to replace your portable DVD player battery.
Decreased Battery Life Can Signal a Problem
If you have noticed that you are unable to run your DVD player on battery power as long as you once were, this may be a sign that your batteries are past their prime. Batteries, whatever type they are, do not last forever. Keep track of how long your batteries last each time you recharge them to see if they are on the decline. You can also make special note of when the low power alert comes on, if your portable player contains that feature. With repeated charging and recharging as well as simple use in your portable DVD player, your batteries will eventually wear out.
Possible Malfunctions
One sign that your portable DVD player battery may need to be replaced is that it is getting too hot to touch while it is in use in your DVD player or while charging. If you notice overheating, stop using your portable DVD player and take the device to an expert for help. Using an overheated battery can damage both the battery and the DVD player, so keep an eye out for this potential malfunction.
If you suspect your battery is not performing as well as it ought, you can also keep an eye on it while it is charging. Does it appear to reach its full charge extremely quickly after you plug it into the charger? Sometimes new batteries will simply have a difficult time charging. If you observe irregularities with charging, remove the battery from the charger, allow it to cool down for a few minutes, and then reconnect it. If problems persist, consult an expert or repair shop.
