How do I know if the charger for my PDA is broken? If your charger won't charge your PDA anymore, then it is probably broken. Before you replace it, we recommend confirming that the problem is actually the charger and not the PDA, surge protector, or wall plug. To determine the source of the problem, follow these steps:
- Inspect the charger for damage to the connector, cord, or prongs. If you see fraying, missing pins, or bent prongs then you should probably order a replacement charger for your PDA.
- If you use a surge protector, plug the charger directly into the wall. If it charges your PDA, then the problem could be with your surge protector.
- If the charger still doesn't work, make sure you have power going to the wall socket. Some sockets can be turned off at a wall switch. You may want to check the circuit breaker if the entire socket appears to be dead. You can also try a socket on the opposite side of the house to see if the socket is the problem.
- If you have a spare charger, try charging with that. If your PDA charges, then the problem is the other charger. If not, then the problem could be the PDA - after many charges, the battery will fail to charge properly and it's time to replace the battery.
- If you don't have a spare charger, order one from Laptops for Less. If the problem turns out not to be the PDA and the charger, you can return the charger with our generous return policy.
