These instruction require a moderate level of technical ability and proficiency in the use of hand tools, as well as a general understanding of electronic components. Buyer assumes full responsibility for the installation of this replacement battery.

 

Step 1:Using one of the two included wrencheswrench.jpg (2203 bytes) remove the four screws from the case. Please start trying the T6 wrench first and then the T5. Palm made these units in two TORX screw versions. We include tools for both sizes. If you start with the T5 wrench, it might strip the screwhead beyond use.

 

 

Step 2:

Using the included flat head screwdriverscrewdriver.jpg (11606 bytes) pry open the Palm case, starting at the bottom.

 

Step 3:

Continue prying the case towards the corners until the full length of the case pops open.

 

Step 4:

Disconnect the connector by gently pulling the black and red ribbon cable towards the battery.

 

Step 5:

Using the flat head screwdriver lift the old battery from the case cover. Apply the new battery on the case within the guide brackets. Please pay attention to have the original orientation (connector towards the bottom of the Palm).

Connect the ribbon cable by positioning it within the socket on the motherboard, pushing it away from the battery.

Snap on the cover and put back the four screws.

Your new battery will need a minimum of three hours of charging before first use.
