Can I use my laptop AC adapter in another country?
Yes, many laptop AC adapters from Laptops for Less can be used in most other countries. To be sure, check the input on the back. If it lists a voltage between 110 and 240 volts, it should work in any country that has voltage within that range. If your adapter lists only 110v, the US standard, then you will need a voltage converter, which we have available for use in continental Europe. Due to their low wattage, voltage converters available in drugstores may not work with your laptop. Be sure to buy an adapter that has a wattage equal to or greater than the wattage of your laptop. To find the necessary wattage, multiply the voltage by the amperage listed on the adapter's label. In addition, you will need a plug adapter. Wall sockets vary by region. For example, UK plugs are different from European plugs. All plugs are different from US plugs. For your convenience, Laptops for Less has a kit containing several of the most popular plug configurations that can be used to convert all your travel appliances at your destination. Never force an incorrect plug into a wall socket. You could damage the appliance, the socket, or injure yourself. For greater peace-of-mind, we recommend taking a spare adapter on your trip and leaving your original at home. That way you won't have to rush to buy a new one should you leave it behind or it's inadvertently damaged by a power source with an incorrect voltage or uneven power supply.
